SCHEDULE:DAY 1: Valscura and Claus lake
Starting from the Terme di Valdieri (Valdieri spas) we will walk along the ancient military mule tracks up til the upper Valscura Lake, where you can closely observe marks left by the past glaciations. An incredible stretch of flagstone road with big debris blocks will lead us to Claus Lake, with its distinctive peninsula that strechtes until the center of the pool of water. Finally we will reach the Questa mountain hut, overlooking the Portette lake at almost 2400 meters. Climb and fall in height: +1100m/-100m Time: about 4 h 30’ Difficulty: easy (E) / hiker (according to the Italian system), however it requires training for hiking DAY 2: Fremamorta Lakes and Guglia Bivouac
Four lakes perfectly lined up, each one looking towards the incomparable Argentera Massif. We will discover some of the historical curiosity about the first explorations in the Maritime Alps and we will look into the tiny Guglia Bivouac. The way down through the larches woods will lead us to Pian della Casa del Re and then to Terme di Valdieri (Valdieri Spas). Estimeted return about 4.30 p.m. Climb and fall in height: +475m/-1500m Time: about 6h00’ Difficulty: easy (E) / hiker (according to the Italian system), however it requires training for hiking DEPARTURE/ RETURN: Terme di Valdieri (Valdieri Spas) at the Park Info-point.

DIFFERENCE OF HEIGHT: as described on the schedule MINIMUM PARTECIPANTS: 8 adults Equipment: In order to join the excursion is COMPULSORY a mid-mountain equipment which includes hiking boots, rainproof jacket, mountain fleece, backpack, water bottle. We recommend you hat, sunglasses, in addition to a binoculars and/or a camera. Note: the guide will be free to suspend the hiking or change the route according to weather and path conditions. The Guide advices: the proposed excursions always occur on a path and they don’t have any particular difficulties. The majority of them can be classified as E (hikers) according to the Italian Club Alpine system, some other as T (touristic). However, those who walk in mountaing must be aware of the anavoidable risks due to the surrounding environment where we will pass throught (risk of tripping, of slipping, insects bites, etc.). |
